Anna: “I was wondering how long your sessions go for, and if you’d be available on October 17th. Thank you!”
Me: “I do have October 17th open in the morning and afternoon! Did you have any ideas on what you’d like to do during your session? What does your family love to do together?”
Anna: “Our session time would be in the middle of the day 2:30 – 4:00.”
Me: “Can you tell me more about what you are thinking of for your session and what you are planning? I’m imagining there must be a good reason that there’s such a specific day and time.”
Anna: “Ok, you got me! 🙂 It is a very special session that would have a little bit of everything in it. The reason why it’s October 17th, is that Ryan and I will have a small (tiny really – 10 min) wedding ceremony at the courthouse (It is scheduled for 2:50pm). Both of our families are from far away – his is on the West coast and mine is overseas. So there will be just the three of us at the ceremony. Besides that, we are expecting a baby too! Even though it’s a small ceremony, it is very special nonetheless.”
Of course it is! So special, and so important, and so wonderful! It doesn’t matter how big or small your ceremony is! What matters is the love. And there is plenty here.
So much love.
I remember thinking that I wouldn’t cry at my first Columbus courthouse wedding. I had the preconceived notion that it would be different than most weddings – a little more formal, faster, to the point. But you know what? I was wrong! Wherever there is love, the emotions will follow. And they surely did at this wedding as well.
After the ceremony, we went to Goodale Park to play a little.
Anna is a photographer as well, and as is the case with all of us photogra-moms, she has a zillion pictures of her husband with her son, but not many of her with her son. So we took some time to focus on that. And then we were off to the North Market to get some Jeni’s ice cream. What a sweet, marvelous family full of love! Happy to announce that Anna just had her baby two weeks ago, and all is going well! What an awesome family to be born into! Wishing you many days of laughter and love and holding on tight.
I love photographing LOVE! If you are planning a wedding big or small, I’d love to document it for you! Tell me all about your plans!
