I did it again. I’m not sure why I make these rules for myself if I’m only going to break them again and again. There are way more than the number of pictures I’m supposed to put in my posts here. But it’s just such a beautiful story, I wanted to share them all with you.
The word that jumps to my mind every single time I look at these images is: JOY.
Oh my goodness, the joy these two shared on their day! It started with getting ready with their friends and families, but it just exploded when they saw each other the first time that day. The joy on their faces, in their bodies – it mirrored the joy deep down in their hearts. And it was beautiful. From when I first met with them, they shared with me how happy they were to share this day with all the kids in their lives – nieces, nephews, friends’ kids. They were excited for the silliness and unpredictability, and for the unabashed delight that kids bring to such a big day.And I’ll tell you, those kids did not disappoint. There can be joy in so many spaces in our lives, in the small moments in between – that brief moment when they got to be alone in each others’ arms and feel the comfort that lies there. Then there was the ceremony at Dock 580. I don’t even know where to begin. SO. MUCH. JOY!!!That moment when they realized they were standing ready to proclaim their love in front of their most beloved people…That moment when shoes became the topic of conversation…And oh my goodness, with that proclamation that they were married. THAT was a beautiful moment. This right to marry is still fresh and new. Leah is quite the cook at home, and we spent part of their engagement session in the kitchen. So it was so fitting that they did a little tasting to represent the different qualities of marriage. I believe this next one was the reaction to the spicy taste. And just that joy after they walked back down the aisle and had a moment to recognize the greatness of this day. Then it was party time!Denise and Leah, I wish you continued joy for all the rest of your days together! I hope you continue to make each other laugh, and that you always hold one another so tightly. Your passion and love for each other is beautiful. It was a joy to document your day!!!
If you are looking for someone to document your day in all its joy and in-between, I’d love to chat with you!
