I have been putting this one off damn near forever. Not because I don’t love them. I love them. I loved everything about their wedding and reception. It was AMAZING.
It wasn’t me being lazy, either. It’s just that, they’re so, so good, that I wanted to make them a super special blog post. And I couldn’t come up with anything as wonderful as they are. But I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to come up with words that do them and their day justice.
So I’m just gonna let you feel all their love and the love of their friends and family in these pictures.
It all started with getting and hair at their favorite salon, with their good buddy Quinn on scissors.
Amanda’s not so sure about this makeup thing.
And she’s not cool with these tangled cords.
But she’s happy as can possibly be! They all are!!!
I mean, have you SEEN this suit?
Then they headed to a great spot on the Scioto Mile for their downtown Columbus wedding. It. Was. Cold. But they’re pretty smart and prepared – they brought heaters and booze!
They were joined by their parents, and their good friends. Pickle (the B in BE!) performed a heartfelt ceremony. There was excitement. There was jumping! There were smiles and tears.
And the sun peeked out from behind the clouds in just the most perfect way, shining light on them reflected off the State Supreme Court building. It was magic.
And a reading of the Supreme Court decision that finally makes all this legal (read by E of BE!), followed by a pretty excited fist pump.
And then, just a crazy ton of joy!!!
They stopped by happy hour to hug some friends,
and then off to Arepazo for some dinner.
Not long ago, I had a possibility of a new job opportunity, and as I was trying to sort out what to do, I was editing their wedding – well – their gameception (I’ll explain more later). There were so many good things about the job possibility – lots of things that made me very happy to imagine. But in the end, I stopped pursuing it. I stopped because of my people. I love my people, and I would be so sad to stop documenting their lives. It is an honor that I don’t take lightly.
Amy and Amanda are my people exactly. It is a joyous thing to be a small part of their world. It felt like the Universe was giving me a little nudge to have me working on their images while pondering this career change, and I’m super grateful for that.
These two bring so much goodness into this world – with their energy, their spirits, their love. You can see it in the ways they give, the people they surround themselves with, the causes they support. You can feel it in just about every aspect of their lives.
A few weeks after their wedding, they celebrated with so many friends and family at a Clippers game! They affectionately dubbed this “gameception.” Yes!
There were name tags…
singing and dancing hot dog friends,
Louseal showed up.
Dreams came true with a dice throw.
And just FUN all night long!
