When Sam and Katie asked me to do their wedding, I knew it would be super classy. Katie’s sense of style is the stuff of fashion magazines. And Sam is not called “pretty boy” by his hockey team for nothing. Such a gorgeous couple, these two. And super laid back, which made for an extra wonderful day.
They started by getting ready at the Renaissance. Supermodel, right?! We snuck out on to the roof for a few shots with the guys before management realized we could get up there and locked us out! No rooftop shots for the girls, so we decided to stop traffic instead. And also, this is a late fall/early winter wedding and it was COLD. Shivering cold. But the girls rocked it and ran (literally) outside for a few fun shots. We planned the path before heading outside, and then it was “Run! Run! Go!” Snap, snap, snap, and then “Back in! Run back in to the warmth!” You’d never know it, looking at these. Serious troopers, these gals. Then it was time to walk over to the Athenaeum for the ceremony and reception. Flower girl came really ready to do her important job! And so did the ring bearer – their dog! Benson did a great job! (And so did the young man who wrangled him down the aisle) 🙂 I can hear the “Hey!”s in my head for these walking-back-down-the-aisle-together ones! We headed outside for a few quick pictures before it was dark. Their golden color scheme was so beautiful at the Athenaeum. They were really excited to dance with all the guests up top in the cocktail area looking down on them. Love this one of Sam smiling up at all those people who love them! Sam and his mom ended their dance together with Sammy hugging her right off her feet! And then the dancing began… All the best to you, Katie and Sam! Thank you so much for letting me be part of your day! You guys are gorgeous and so kind. It is a pleasure to know you, and to see you so happily married!!!
